A school bus driver carrying members of the Wilson High School junior varsity football team made a wrong
turn Oct. 5, 2017, while trying to find the route out of Batavia and toward home in Rochester.
The driver encountered a roadblock because of a special event and tried to turn around, pulling up on a
sidewalk and getting the bus stuck. Team members tried to help push the bus off the sidewalk.
The team was eager, however, to brag about its victory earlier over the Batavia team. The YWCA,
host of the special event, fed the team a hot meal while they waited for the bus to be towed.
